Our vision...

As a church, we believe before God that our primary vision is to honour God by being a respected and high-profile Christian community in Newport Pagnell through:

  • its worship of God that is central to its life
  • its clear and effective presentation of the Christian Gospel to the people of our community through the call to Christian discipleship
  • its ability to represent God's word and a Christian perspective in the affairs of our community and society
  • its active participation in God's Mission in the world
  • its ability to mobilise and to equip Christians in the exercise of their God-given gifts

Why Baptist?..

We're a Baptist Church. Whilst we respect the beliefs and traditions of other Christian churches, as Baptists we only baptise those old enough to have made up their own minds about following Jesus. We do this because we believe that Jesus asked that we make this commitment to be immersed in water as a symbolic way of showing that as new Christians we have shed our old life and have been reborn with Christ. We try to model our approach to baptism on what we understand to have been the practice of the very first Christians, but instead of using the local river, we have a handy pool right under our main stage for this very purpose.

This means that we don't baptise babies or young children, although we do offer a service of Infant Dedication and Thanksgiving where young lives are celebrated and parents, family and church members can make a promise before God to encourage the child's faith by teaching, sharing and living a life centered around Jesus.
