Dad's Big Campout 2014

Fancy a couple of nights to getting back to nature with the kids?
Why not leave Mum at home and join in the big adventure campout

What’s it for?
A few of us Dads decided we wanted the kids to experience a bit of good old fashioned camping. Something they’d remember that would drag them away from the TV and iPads for once. We wanted a campfire as well as a safe place to forage and Herons Lodge near Loughton (www.heronslodge.co.uk/) was perfect. The Campout is most suited to Dad's / Uncles / Grandads and the over 4's but any age / responsible adult / child combinations are welcome. So get on the jungle drums and invite friends, family, colleagues - anyone who you think would enjoy it. This is now the second Big Campout and last year was pretty awesome so this year we've extended it an extra night and have even more stuff planned.

What's the plan?
We’ll meet at around 6pm on Friday and set up our tents, then meet around the campfire at around 8pm for marshmallow toasting and hot chocolate. After breakfast on Saturday the 'Its a Knockout' tournament begins, continues after lunch and culminates after tea with yet another campfire and prize giving. Finally we’ll have breakfast together on Sunday, before packing up at our leisure and heading back home.

What will we need?
If you’ve got a tent that’s great, if not we should be able to sort you out. And apart from some bedding / sleeping bag and toiletries you’re good to go. All food, drink, and activities will be taken care of. There are basic showers, toilets and a clubhouse in case the weather turns nasty.

How much will it cost?
Cost is £20 per adult (over 16) and £15 per child or whatever you can afford.

Ok I’m interested - What next?..
All we need is your name and surname, a contact e-mail and mobile number and how many will be in your party. You can text this to Mark (07909 523319) or e-mail bendalljones@yahoo.co.uk.

How do I pay?
Paypal to bendalljones@yahoo.co.uk (choose ‘pay a friend’ option)
Online banking (details on request)
Or Cash / cheque to Mark Bendall-Jones
